In his novel "The New Adam," writer Nicolas Al-Haddad narrates the story of a stranger coming from Paris to Egypt, seeking a better life and the coincidences that bring him together with Laila Al-Marani, mixed with social challenges and complex relationships. The novel deals with realism and deep spirituality with the battles of life and the struggle between power and right, revealing the masks to reveal new aspects of human life.

محمد لطفي جمعة، الكاتب والمترجم والروائي المصري، وُلد في الإسكندرية عام 1886 لأسرة من الطبقة الوسطى، ونشأ وسط تأثير الزعيمين الوطنيين مصطفى كامل ومحمد فريد، حيث شكلوا صداقة وطيدة وتعاونوا في الكفاح السياسي ضد الاستعمار. درس في مدارس متعددة وحصل على إجازة من كلية الحقوق في فرنسا عام 1912، وعمل كمدرس وناشط ثقافي وفكري، مساهمًا في تطوير الفكر الإنساني والتعليم المجاني، إضافةً إلى ترجمته لأعمال عديدة من الأدب العالمي إلى العربية. أصيب بجلطة دماغية ألمت به لفترة طويلة، قبل أن يرحل عن عالمنا بسبب مضاعفات المرض.
