Badi Al -Zaman Al -Hamdhani

Through his magic pen, Maroun Abboud was able to draw a precise picture of the difficult political conditions that Lebanon lived in the first half of the last century. In accurately and in a wonderful literary manner, he discussed and directed his criticism towards the political, economic and social conditions. He focused on important issues such as amending the constitution to keep pace with new transformations in the country's history and fighting the sectarian discrimination that negatively affected society. He also discussed the election crises and warned against corruption, purchase and sale in this context. Clearly, he pointed to the necessity of restructuring Lebanon and cleaning it from corruption. He also dealt with social and economic issues such as public care, public budget and increased pensions. He did not ignore the issues of the recruitment of women and called on Arab women to serve their homeland by serving her home and leaving the battlefield for men. This image, which Abboud drew is a live window that opens before us to see Lebanon in the mid -twentieth century.

مارون عبود: الشخصية الرائدة في النهضة الأدبية الحديثة في لبنان، هو كاتب صحفي وروائي ساخر وقصاص بارع وشاعر يتميز بحيائه. لم يقتصر إبداعه في ميدان الأدب، بل تجلى أيضًا كناقد أبهر نقاده بإجلالهم واحترامهم. يتألق كمؤرخ ومسرحي، ويعد من الزعماء في ميدان الفكر والفن في العصر الحديث. حاز مارون عبود على العديد من الأوسمة، منها وسام المعارف من الدرجة الأولى، ووسام الاستقلال من الدرجة الثانية. أثر بإيجابية في المكتبة العربية من خلال مؤلفاته الأدبية والشعرية والنقدية كـ "نقدات عابر"، و"تذكار الصبا"، و"زوابع". ودعته الحياة في عام ١٩٦٢م.
