Literature is a window towards the spirit of the times, and the writer is the observatory that expresses the concerns and aspirations of its society in its unique style. Maroun Abboud is a living model for the son of Lebanese society, as he merged with his transformations and challenges. His literature was not separated from this difficult reality that Lebanon went through during the long French occupation. As a writer, he played an effective role in facing the occupation using the strength of the word, calling on his people to confront and resist. Black pages recorded in the history of Lebanon, but it lit the road with bright glimpses. Maroun Abboud can review the situation of the Arabs in a wonderful literary style, as in the 'Uncle Conference', and to master the style of the philosopher Bidba in 'Kalila and Dimna'. In short, he is a writer who is creative at any time and under any pressure.

مارون عبود: الشخصية الرائدة في النهضة الأدبية الحديثة في لبنان، هو كاتب صحفي وروائي ساخر وقصاص بارع وشاعر يتميز بحيائه. لم يقتصر إبداعه في ميدان الأدب، بل تجلى أيضًا كناقد أبهر نقاده بإجلالهم واحترامهم. يتألق كمؤرخ ومسرحي، ويعد من الزعماء في ميدان الفكر والفن في العصر الحديث. حاز مارون عبود على العديد من الأوسمة، منها وسام المعارف من الدرجة الأولى، ووسام الاستقلال من الدرجة الثانية. أثر بإيجابية في المكتبة العربية من خلال مؤلفاته الأدبية والشعرية والنقدية كـ "نقدات عابر"، و"تذكار الصبا"، و"زوابع". ودعته الحياة في عام ١٩٦٢م.
