Andromache

Andromache is a masterpiece of classical French theater. Jean-Baptiste Racine masterfully crafted a human tragedy steeped in passion, jealousy, and betrayal, inspired by Greek mythology and the Trojan Wars. Set in the palaces of kings after the fall of Troy, the play reveals a raging psychological conflict between love, duty, and revenge. While Andromache embodies the image of a realistic, steadfast woman, Hermione, her rival, is inflamed by jealousy, becoming a violent, impulsive lover, a central figure in the course of events. جان راسين (Jean Racine، 1639–1699م) شاعر ومسرحي فرنسي كلاسيكي. كتب مآسي شعرية من أبرزها «فيدرا» و«أندروماك». امتاز أسلوبه بالتركيز على العاطفة الإنسانية المأساوية. ويُعد من أعظم كتّاب المسرح الفرنسي.
