A fragmentary novel that is considered one of Al-Kharrat's most prominent writings, in which memories are filled with threads of narration. The novel relies on the modernist narrative in which Al-Kharrat created, transforming his city of Alexandria into a separate narrative fabric with memories spaced years apart, but it is folded into a larger, comprehensive narrative within Al-Kharrat and the city. The novel deals with a number of characters who left the world of "Al-Kharrat" one by one, and he wanders through his memory searching for them, recounting the moments of their first meeting and the moments of their deaths that he attended, or those moments that were facts and news that stabbed into his chest like a lightning bolt at times, and at times by coincidence.
