The Epic of Gilgamish

The Epic of Gilgamish is one of the oldest surviving works of world literature, presented in English translation and study by R. Campbell Thompson. The epic tells the story of Gilgamish, the powerful king of Uruk, whose extraordinary strength and ambition lead him on a journey of adventure, friendship, loss, and self-discovery. Alongside his loyal companion Enkidu, Gilgamish battles mythical creatures, angers the gods, and faces tragic challenges that force him to confront the reality of death and the limits of human life.
