Über das eBook

In a world of rapid change, which religious convictions still hold ground—and which are overdue for a rethink?
"Do You Really Believe That?" is a compelling challenge for those who value faith but refuse to leave their intellect at the door.
This book explores the origins, development, and psychological foundations of religious belief. Written for interested non-specialists, it examines how faith traditions emerged, how they shaped societies, and how modern science and critical thinking challenge traditional worldviews. The author offers a thoughtful and accessible perspective on religion, morality, and the search for meaning in a secular age.

Über den Autor

The author—who publishes under a pseudonym—has an interdisciplinary background that combines logic, reflection on faith, and social experience.
After training as a banker and studying computer science, many years followed in senior IT positions, most recently with European responsibility at a global financial services provider. International projects and exchanges with people from different cultures brought increasing awareness of how religious beliefs can shape individual thinking and social action.
Supplemented by several semesters of theology studies and a strong personal interest in history, philosophy, and technology, the author developed a desire to explore the tensions between faith, knowledge, and critical thinking in greater depth.
Above all, the lack of understanding about the increasing influence of fundamentalist beliefs, which are completely at odds with current social understanding and scientific achievements, was a strong motivation for writing this book.
It is intended to encourage readers to critically question their attitudes and to think further.
