The Book of News of Fools and Idiots by Abu al-Faraj Ibn al-Jawzi is one of the greatest tales left to us by the Arab heritage, combining humor and humor with a moral. In it, the author compiles real stories and tales about fools and idiots from various classes, from common people to princes, governors, judges, and poets. The book begins by defining the meaning of foolishness, its types, and the characteristics of the fool, then moves on to present funny anecdotes that reveal strange behaviors, bizarre actions, and unexpected situations that make the reader smile and reflect simultaneously. أبو الفرج بن الجوزي (510 – 597هـ / 1116 – 1201م) هو فقيه ومحدّث ومؤرخ وخطيب بارز من علماء بغداد في العصر العباسي، يُنسب إلى المذهب الحنبلي ويُعد من أكثر العلماء إنتاجًا في عصره. تميز بسعة علمه وغزارة مؤلفاته التي تجاوزت المئات، شملت التفسير والحديث والفقه والتاريخ والوعظ والأدب. من أشهر كتبه "صفوة الصفوة" و"المنتظم في تاريخ الملوك والأمم" و"تلبيس إبليس" و"صيد الخاطر"، التي جمعت بين الفائدة العلمية والأسلوب الأدبي المؤثر. عُرف بخطبه البليغة ومواقفه الإصلاحية، وكان له دور كبير في نشر العلم ومواجهة البدع، وظل أثره حاضرًا في التراث الإسلامي والأدب العربي.
