Diwan of the Glory of Islam

"Diwan Majd al-Islam" (The Majestic Collection of Islam) is the pinnacle of poet Ahmed Muharram's work. Through it, he presented the first Arab-Islamic epic poem in the style of Homer's "Iliad." His work has earned the nickname "The Islamic Iliad." In more than three thousand verses, Muharram narrates the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from his mission to his death, reviewing the most important milestones in his life: conquests, battles, political and social stances, and moral and religious lessons. This epic work not only documents events but also gives them a heroic, legendary dimension, presenting the Prophet and his noble companions as immortal heroes who shaped a glorious history for the Islamic nation. Muharram combined the majesty of the subject with the eloquence of poetry, resulting in a unique work that blends poetic art with a religious and historical spirit. It is truly an icon that has made his name immortal in the annals of modern Arabic literature.

أحمد محرم (1877–1945م) شاعر مصري من تلاميذ أحمد شوقي. اشتهر بملحمته الشعرية «الإلياذة الإسلامية» التي تناولت السيرة النبوية. كتب الشعر الوطني والاجتماعي بأسلوب فصيح. وكان من الأصوات الشعرية البارزة في عصر النهضة.
