Moris-Mari-Emil' Leblan (1864–1941) was a French writer whose fame is primarily associated with the character of Arsène Lupin, who became a cult character in adventure literature. Having started his career as a reporter for Le Figaro, Leblanc remained in the shadows for a long time until he was supported by the publisher Pierre Lafitte, who suggested creating a character who could compete with Sherlock Holmes. Thus, Arsène Lupin appeared — a charming criminal, a noble adventurer, and a master of disguise, who captivated readers with his wit, courage, and insight.
