Frederic Boutet (1874–1941) is a French writer, a master of action-packed adventures and fantasy stories. His work combines elements of mysticism, science fiction and the macabre science fiction genre, close to "black" fantasy. This edition presents the novel "The Double" — a story full of mysteries and disturbing premonitions. Claude Mercur, a talented young politician, is at the top of his career. But power, influence and, most importantly, love cannot be divided. Two cannot exist at the same time... One must disappear. Murder or accident? Who of them survived?

Additionally, the collection includes two short novels, written in the style of the grotesque, where reality and fantasy are intertwined in a dizzying whirlwind of adventures.
