I wondered what this sticky substance was in my sick, Amsha's ear? Am I dealing with a new type of fungus that infects the ear (otomycosis)? I thought to myself: Perhaps it is a new type of fungus that I discovered, or that the Amsha fungi have mutated and new types (neostrains) have emerged from it, as happens with bacteria and fungi. Anyway, I was the first to discover it. I was confused about the name. Should I call it (Amsha mycosis) after the first patient I discovered to be infected with it? Or (Ibn Saeed Mycosis)? This is my right, and I was thinking about the nearest scientific conference or symposium to participate in, as a keynote speaker who would present a (working paper) on a new type of fungus that infects the ears. The head of the department was from Sweden, where the Nobel Prize is located. His name, if I remember correctly, was John Hemley. My imagination ran wild, and I made up my mind not to tell him what I had found in a patient I had visited at the clinic he was the head of. I imagined myself presenting my (discovery) under the name (Amsha or Ibn Sa'id Maikosz), and then a patent for a discovery that no one had ever made before me. I feared that the head of the Swedish department would claim it as his own if I told him. It's possible that he might recommend that one of his acquaintances in Stockholm (the capital of Sweden) nominate it for the Nobel Prize in Medicine. He might even change the name of the discovery from (Amsha or Ibn Sa'id Maikosz) to (John Hemeli Maikosz). My fear was well-founded. There are many professors and department heads who steal the efforts and discoveries of those with lower academic degrees than them, who work under their leadership, and attribute them to themselves. At the time, I was a newly graduated resident physician, just beginning my work in this department, and I wanted to specialize in ear diseases and surgery. Then came (Amsha) and her fungi, shortening the path to what I wanted to achieve on a golden platter. What glory awaited me?! What broad horizons and fame await my discovery?! On my way, I had no doubt that what I'd found in my (Amsha's) ear was a new type of fungus, one I'd been the first to discover. But to reassure my heart and eliminate all doubt, I asked Amsha one last question: Did you put anything in your ears after your first visit to the hospital, after I cleaned your ears, applied the medication screen, and now that you've returned to my clinic, 48 hours later? She replied: !!!!. 116 Amsha and the Nobel Prize.
