Is writing short stories an art or a business?

The lover of literature will feel a deep connection to the book, learn a lot from it, and perhaps recall the details of previous readings in order to decipher them and know their keys and methods. Perhaps he will find the path to the story and then the novel.
He who has the gift of writing will know how to create plots derived from the life he knows, from things within and around him, from characters derived and experienced by that life.
He will determine the standard of his opinions and feelings himself, and refuse to modify them to make them less annoying, more innocent, or more consistent with the standard or specifications of any editor, critic, teacher, or friend, supported by the belief that there is always a fearless minority who wants to hear an honest word, and write and read an unforgettable story that deserves to be included under the name "literature" and "art."
