An eye from a scene

I looked at my face in the mirror. Yesterday's insomnia streaked red veins in my eyes, and a poultice struck the blackness of his years beneath them. Memories came flooding back to me all last night. They crowded around me as if I were in a vigilant carnival of faces that I could not distinguish! But they are faces that left me and I left them.
