What did the sound of rain teach you?!
Poetry is a shorthand of speech, and in the Diwan "The sound of rain did not teach you" a new attempt to reduce the colloquial poem in its classical form to one or two verses that serve the same purpose as the long poem, and communicate the idea with less often.
