"Are you a creature of your circumstances or the creator of them? His depression wasn't just because of the bad night. His wife had written to him saying she wasn't going back to Rio de Janeiro. This life of the dead had drained her. She couldn't sleep with a man who considered his weapon an extension of his body, a man who couldn't rest easy, a killer. She couldn't wake up frightened by the sounds of the world. The incurable sore that had afflicted her was because of Her ignorance of her husband's fate at the end of each day, her lack of security while walking in the street without any peace of mind, being the wife of a police officer made it difficult for her to make friends, she spent her life confined to the house, and if she complained a lot, she was beaten... He thought that being a police officer was better than dealing with drunks in bars, he knew this from previous experience; as he worked in one of the bars in the middle of The city before he joined the police force.
