Now the angels are safe

The new novel by the writer Muhammad Abdullah Sami, winner of the Sawiris Cultural Award twice: "Now the angels are safe." The novel tells about the days of a soldier's service guarding the Akhenaten Temple at Tell el-Amarna in our modern era, and about the strange visits he witnesses at night in the temple, and about his relationship with his fellow guards, which developed because of those visits. It took him to different, far-off places, and left him with questions and ideas greater than what he could think of.

كاتب وروائي. وُلِد في "إمبابة"، ويعيش هناك حتى الآن. تخرَّج في كلية الهندسة، جامعة القاهرة قسم الأجهزة الطبية والحيوية في عام 2009. لديه بعض المقالات والقصص المنشورة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي وعلى مدوَّنته الخاصة. عكف على كتابة روايته الأولى "درب الإمبابي"، لِمَا ينيف عن العامين، حتى أتمَّها في نهاية عام 2018، ثم نُشِرَت عن مركز المحروسة في مطلع عام 2019. ترشَّحَت روايته الأولى "درب الإمبابي" للقائمة الطويلة لجائزة الشيخ زايد للعام 2019، وفازت بالمركز الثاني لجائزة "ساويرس" للأدب في نفس العام. "نابليون والقرد" عن مركز المحروسة هي ثاني أعماله الأدبية، وأولى محاولاته في مجال القصة القصيرة وحصلت على المركز الثاني في جائزة ساويرس الثقافية.
