The novel revolves around "Elizabeth"; She was the last of the Jewish girls to immigrate from Egypt, and her mother was Madame "Nakhil," a movie extra in the 1940s, one of those who danced the Clacket in the Haram Street casinos, and a friend of the English murderer, "Jack Malecki," the Jew. After the loss of her mother and the loss of her affiliation to the Jewish community in Egypt, Elizabeth lives in a state of loss in a society that has changed her and rejects her because she is a Jew living in the Al-Zaher neighborhood in ancient Egypt. Elizabeth enters into a number of exploitative relationships between two companions: one of them is a Muslim influenced by the extremist Islamic trend, and the other is a Christian who is submissive to the Europeans, despising himself. However, she therefore exploits them to serve her dog in a long, exhausting relationship that ends with the catastrophic burning of the Sainsbury's supermarket chain due to sectarian strife, and she has no choice but to escape. روائي مصري، بدأ رحلته مع الكتابة في سِنٍّ مبكِّرة. صدرت له رواية "من أجل البلوند" في طبعتين، ثم صدرت له رواية "الحي الإنجليزي"، والتي أشاد بها القُرَّاء والنُّقَّاد على حدٍّ سواء؛ حيث كتب عنها الدكتور سعد الدين إبراهيم في جريدة المصري اليوم تحت عنوان "من رواية الحي الإنجليزي إلى فيلم الضيف"، كما كتب عنها الأستاذ ممدوح رزق بأخبار الأدب تحت عنوان "الحي الإنجليزي: المكان خارج نفسه"، وكذلك الدكتور علي سيف حسن رئيس المنتدى السياسي اليمني، والأستاذ عبد العظيم حماد، والروائي أشرف العشماوي، وأشرف الخمايسي، وأيضًا صنع الله إبراهيم، وأحمد الخميسي، وغيرهم.
