Farida and my oppressed master

"Near another door in the palace, Farida's friend, Hassan Sham, was standing... She stood looking at her only friend, and she was wearing a French dress, made by Madame Worth's hands. The bridesmaids were adjusting the train of the dress and spreading its veil on the floor. Farida looked at Hassan's reflection in front of her in the mirror, and when their eyes met, Hassan saw Farida's childish joy, despite the trembling in her fingers. Although she was happy that she would marry her beloved king, she was terrified that she had become the queen. Hassan Sham smiled with the confidence of people, and said to herself: "And you are Indeed, you are still the queen? Who is here, I wonder, who will remain the queen?" Then she looks again at her friend in the mirror and shakes her head with reassuring tenderness.
The novel takes place during 50 years of Egyptian history, through the life of Queen Farida and her relationship with King Farouk, and the dramatic transformation that occurred in her life after the separation through the girl who was born in a popular neighborhood on the day of Farouk and Farida's marriage. What led to her lifelong bond with Farida: the lives of both of them."
