Cairo in the era of Ismail

A whole century has passed since the departure of the great Ismail Pasha from our world. That man whose era was the richest and most comprehensive of our modern historical eras in all fields. Khedive Ismail passed away to his nation at the crossroads, contested by two civilizations, the Arab-Islamic civilization. It tends towards it by virtue of inheritance and tradition... and modern Western civilization is moving towards it by virtue of innovation. Ismail influenced the strong and violent reform, in order to adopt the causes of civilizational advancement in urbanization, agriculture, industry, trade, education, the judiciary, and the political and administrative systems... and in all of this there was the inspiring spirit and the driving hand, in An era full of creation and renewal...building and construction...historians may disagree about Ismail Pasha, but they agree on the greatness of his personality that knew the impossible...and no generation - especially the generation at the end of the twentieth century - could realize the extent of Ismail's greatness, unless he imagined Egypt when he... Ismail Pasha ascended its throne, but fair history can only fulfill its duty of truth if it speaks about those who built it, defined its features, and had the first say in making and directing its events.
