"My sister, Widad, died. They found her rotting body in our old, simple apartment, where the sun does not visit, and the air blows through its narrow windows from afar, and then runs away, just as the people around the body fled, placing their palms on their noses. I did not run away, nor did I put my hand on my nose. Rather, I approached her, leaned over her quietly, took a long inhale, and smelled the most delicious scent I had ever seen, while she was still in peace, raising her hands, waving her full muffle, cooing in joy, flying away into the clear sky. *** This collection mixes miserable reality with wild imagination, creating a world in which oppressed and fearful people move, as well as dreamers and adventurers struggling for a life worthy of human beings. The collection includes fourteen stories that take place in two places, the countryside and the city, ranging from intense stories that delve into a scene, situation, situation, or moment, and lengthy stories that compress into their lines what could, if prolonged, form a complete novel.

عمار علي حسن، صدرت له عشر روايات، وسبع مجموعات قصصية، وثلاثة كتب في النقد الأدبي، وعشرون كتابا في الاجتماع السياسي والتصوف، وسيرة ذاتية سردية، وتعدّ حول رواياته وقصصه أربع عشرة أطروحة جامعية داخل مصر وخارجها، وترجمت بعض أعماله إلى عدة لغات، ونال جوائز منها: جائزة الدولة للتفوق، وجائزة الشيخ زايد للكتاب، وجائزة اتحاد كتاب مصر في الرواية. وفي القصة القصيرة حصل على جوائز: "الطيب صالح للإبداع الكتابي" و"جامعة القاهرة" و"أخبار الأدب" وغيرها.
