Human unity

In his profound and inspiring book, "The Unity of Man," Jacob Bronowski, the polymath and philosopher, invites us to rediscover "the unity of the human soul" and "the harmony of its various elements." Bronowski argues that "man is not just a mechanical machine," but rather a "complex being" in which "reason, feelings, and imagination" are mixed. He emphasizes that "science and art are not contradictory," but rather "two complementary ways of expressing the human soul." He believes that "imagination" is the "essential link" between them, as it nourishes "science and art" alike. Bronowski explores, through four main axes: "man, nature, self, and mind," "the dimensions of man's unity," and "his relationship with himself and the world around him."

كان "جاكوب برونوفسكي" (1908-1974) عالِمًا وَفيلسوفًا بريطانيًا مِن أَصلٍ بولنديّ، اشتهر بِـ "عُمقِ فكرِه وَاتّساعِ مَعارفِه". وَقد تَخصّص في "الرياضيات" ، لكنه أَبدع أيضًا في مجالاتٍ مُختلفةٍ كَـ "البيولوجيا" وَ "الأنثروبولوجيا" وَ "الأَدب". وَقد عُرِفَ "برونوفسكي" بِاهتمامِه بِـ "البُعدِ الإنسانيّ لِلعِلم" وَ "دَوْرِهِ في تَحسين حياة الإنسان".
