بول موي هو أحد أبرز فلاسفة العلم الفرنسيين، وُلد عام 1888. عمل مدرسًا للفلسفة لطلاب المرحلة الثانوية قبل أن يصبح أستاذًا جامعيًا في السوربون. تمحورت فلسفته حول العلم، حيث درس بعناية فكرة التقدّم وظهور الروح العلمية في عصر التنوير، وعُرف بانتقاده لفلسفة ديكارت، مشددًا على افتقارها إلى الصرامة الرياضية. قدم موي العديد من الأعمال الفلسفية البارزة، مثل "المنطق وفلسفة العلوم" و"فكرة التقدّم في فلسفة رينوفير"، إلى جانب مؤلفات مدرسية تهدف لتلبية احتياجات التعليم الثانوي. توفي في عام 1946 في باريس، تاركًا إرثًا فلسفيًا غنيًا في مجال الفكر العلمي.
