أحمد عيسى هو طبيب وأديب ومؤرخ مصري وُلِد في مدينة رشيد بمحافظة البحيرة عام 1876. أتم تعليمه الأساسي في مدينته، ثم انتقل إلى المدرسة الخديوية والتحق بمدرسة الطب في القاهرة، حيث تخصص في أمراض النساء وعمل في الطب الباطني في عدة مستشفيات، لكنه لم يستمر في ممارسة الطب ووجه اهتمامه نحو التأليف والترجمة. كان يحرص على حضور دروس في مجالات معرفية أخرى في الجامعة المصرية. أجاد أحمد عيسى عدة لغات سامية، بالإضافة إلى اليونانية واللاتينية، وكان عضوًا في العديد من الجمعيات والمجالس مثل جمعية الهلال الأحمر، ومجلس المجمع العلمي بدمشق، والمجلس الأعلى لدار الكتب المصرية، والأكاديمية الدولية لتاريخ العلوم في باريس. توفي عام 1946.
