Practical reasons

Pierre Bourdieu's thought has had a great impact on the humanities and social sciences since the mid-1960s, and he was one of the main actors in French cultural and intellectual life. Bourdieu's star began to shine with the books: The Heirs, Reproduction, and The Book of Distinction.
