صوفيا لاين بول (1804 - 1891)، مستشرقة إنجليزية، شغفها الشرق بفضل مغامرات أخيها المستشرق الشهير وعالم اللغويات إدوارد ويليام لاين، وكان السبب لزيارتها لمصر عام 1842. لم تشتهر صوفيا بكونها كاتبة أو مؤرخة، ولكنها حبّذت أن تُسجّل زيارتها لهذه البقعة الساحرة من الشرق، ما منحها فيما بعد شهرة محدودة بين أوساط المستشرقين وعلماء المصريات.
