Über das eBook

Arizona Argonauts is a brisk Western adventure that transforms the Arizona frontier into a modern field of quest, danger, and moral testing. Drawing on the old term "Argonauts" for gold-seekers and wanderers, H. Bedford-Jones frames the desert not merely as scenery but as a crucible of ambition, endurance, and violent chance. Its style is characteristic of early twentieth-century popular fiction: economical, plot-driven, vividly atmospheric, and alert to the codes of honor, greed, loyalty, and survival that shaped pulp-era frontier storytelling. H. Bedford-Jones, often called the "King of the Pulps," was one of the most prolific writers of his generation, contributing adventure, historical, mystery, and Western fiction to major magazines. Born in Canada and long active in the American literary marketplace, he possessed a remarkable facility for turning historical knowledge and genre convention into compelling narrative. His fascination with risk, movement, and masculine codes of conduct helps explain the energy behind Arizona Argonauts. Readers who appreciate classic Westerns, treasure-hunt narratives, and compact adventure fiction will find this book rewarding. It is especially recommended for those interested in the evolution of pulp literature and the mythic imagination of the American Southwest.
