"The Road" is an autobiographical memoir by Jack London, published in 1907. In this book, London gives an account of his experiences in the 1890s, during the worst economic depression in the United States. This is a story of survival: London describes his experiences hopping freight trains, fights with the crew trying to throw him off, begging for food and money, and inventing extraordinary scenarios to fool the police.
