History of Hannibal

Hannibal, born in Carthage, is considered one of the most prominent military leaders who instilled fear in the hearts of his enemies. Military leaders still cite some of his military tactics today. Historians have woven many stories and narratives around him, inspired by their imaginations, which include considerable exaggeration, even creating a mythical aura around him, portraying him as a bloodthirsty butcher. This book aims to uncover the truth about Hannibal, based solely on historical events, without considering historical opinions, including their distortions and falsifications. It covers his biography, from his birth in 247 BC to his joining his father Hamilcar's army, at the age of nine, in his military campaign against Spain. It also reviews the Carthaginian leader's heroic deeds in his military battles against the Roman Empire, where he led Carthaginian armies in the Second Punic War, crossing the Rhone River and the Alps, until he reached northern Italy.
