Give Back My Heart (part 1/2)

"Return My Heart" is one of the most famous novels by the romantic knight, the great writer Youssef El Sebaei. Its events revolve around the story of an impossible love affair between Ali, the son of a poor gardener, and Engy, the aristocratic daughter of princes, set against a historical and social backdrop that reflects the class disparity that Egyptian society witnessed before the 1952 revolution. The two lovers face a social reality that rejects their union, and the novel blends romance, history, and social drama. In 1957, the novel was adapted into one of the most famous Egyptian films, embodying Egyptians' longing for justice and emancipation from the shackles of a class-based society.

أديب مصري من مواليد القاهرة 1917م. التحق بالكلية الحربية عام 1935م، وتولَّى العديد من المناصب العسكرية والثقافية، مثل رئاسة تحرير روز اليوسف، وآخر ساعة، ودار الهلال، والأهرام، وشغل منصب وزير الثقافة. اشتُهِر بإسهاماته في الرواية والقصة، ومن أشهر أعماله «السقا مات»، «أرض النفاق»، «بين الأطلال»، «إني راحلة»، وتحوَّلت جميعها لأفلام تُعَدُّ من أفضل كلاسيكيات السينما المصرية.
