Über das eBook

The development of the novel in the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula was delayed until the second half of the twentieth century. Its emergence was sporadic and limited during the 1940s and 1950s. However, in recent decades, the emergence and spread of this distinctive narrative genre has accelerated. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an example of this development and its characteristics, with novelistic development in this region witnessing a significant increase in recent years.
Most of the writers who have taken up the banner of novelistic development in this region began their literary careers by emulating the style of mature works, whether Arab or international. Some have subsequently been able to develop the techniques of their literary works, while others are still trying to imitate their early works. Still others have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they lack the capacity to develop their styles. The style of Jurji Zaydan, the dominant style of his time, still represents the deep stylistically relevant aspect of many works.
In this context, the author attempts to shed light on numerous novelistic models from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait, analyzing them to determine the extent of the crystallization and development of the novelistic structure in the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula.
