Über das eBook
This book includes a collection of articles in which Maroun Abboud sheds light on some of the most controversial issues in cultural and public affairs, such as false testimony, civil marriage, women's rights, the teachers' crisis, and other topics inspired by the social reality and human life in Lebanese society. The articles are written in a critical and analytical style, not devoid of the sense of sarcasm and irony that characterize Abboud's writings, in addition to the simple language, far from complexity. Maroun Abboud is a Lebanese satirical writer and author, born in Ain Kfaa, a village in Byblos, in 1886 AD. His literary and journalistic inclinations began early, when he published a literary magazine called "Al-Sa'iqa" (The Thunderbolt) and began writing poems, some of which were published in "Al-Rawda" newspaper. This paved the way for him to become a pioneer of the modern literary renaissance in Lebanon and a leader of thought and art in the modern era. He wrote in several fields: criticism, journalism, poetry, prose, and short stories, but it was in literary criticism that he excelled most.
