History of Greek philosophy
Über das eBook
This series of classics of philosophy, written and translated, is the most prominent foundation upon which our modern renaissance was based, and upon which previous generations were raised.
We are in dire need today to republish these classics from pioneering works and translators for the benefit of our younger generations, especially in light of the scarcity of what contemporary specialists write in philosophy and its various fields, and in light of the absence of a philosophical approach to thinking in our contemporary lives, which was the direct cause of what we see of extremism, fanaticism, stagnation, and lack of understanding. Accepting others and losing the ability to analyze and criticize ideas.
These philosophers were trying to uncover, discover and explain the secrets of existence with their minds, and these minds had the credit for developing their understanding until they reached many of the secrets of existence and discovered the origin of existence and its first cause: "God." Perhaps this mental exploration of the secrets of existence and the discovery of the truth about the existence of "God" is what impressed the commentators and philosophers among the believers in the three heavenly religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, so they based their religious philosophies on reconciling what the Greek philosophers had reached through their abstract contemplations and what the revelation of heaven had brought in the holy books. .
Only through their contemplative minds did the Greek philosophers succeed in paving the way for belief in divine religions. What is important here is for the dear reader to trace how Greek philosophy developed from one philosopher to another through dialogue, discussion, and criticism from those who succeeded them to their predecessors without getting tired or bored, and without anyone getting angry at criticism or anyone becoming fanatical about his opinion. The ultimate goal of our reading of the history of philosophy is not to repeat or memorize what philosophers say, but rather to acquire a style of philosophical thinking that is based on analysis, criticism, and dialogue in which the opinion and opinion of others are respected, all with the aim of reaching the truth in all areas of existence and life until today.
