Ibn Rushd

The most amazing thing about Ibn Rushd's upbringing is that he grew up in the Almohad state, and that he received encouragement from one of their successors to work on explaining Aristotle and interpreting the topics of philosophy in general. It was a matter of wonder that this encouragement came from people who were famous for their puritanism and extreme preservation of the Salafi sciences, and among them were those who attributed to him that he burned books of philosophy and researched the doctrines of theologians.
