Rebellious Spirits

Gibran Khalil Gibran uses the narrative form as a way to present his vision of life. Through several stories: "The Lady Warda," "Warda al-Hani," "The Cry of the Graves," "The Bride's Bed," and "Khalil the Infidel," the writer forms a narrative world that is carried by his ideas calling for rebellion against the social inheritance that pressures the individual to take away his dreams and hopes and push him toward a false material reality. Like all of Gibran's creations, which are full of the tendency to Longing for spiritual fulfillment in nature, love, and mysticism, we find the heroes of these stories dreaming, trying, and rebelling.
