Zinger lay on straw in his prison after spending five hours standing on his feet, not knowing what decision the jury would make in his case. The judge was asking them to find him guilty, and if they said he was "not guilty," they would offend the judge, and perhaps end up in prison.
Ten minutes had not passed before the jailer entered Zinger's room and woke him up from his deep sleep. While he was still asleep, he said: Is it time for lunch?
He walked under the escort of two soldiers to the courtroom, and found it crowded with crowds. The foreman of the jury stood up to give the decision.
