Between Medicine and Islam

The late Dr. Hamid Al-Ghawabi was a distinguished doctor and Islamic preacher. He was proficient in medicine, and he was successful in preaching. His medicine benefited him in presenting his calling well, just as it benefited his calling and made him sincere in his profession. He was religious when he practiced medicine, and he treated when he preached. It did not harm him if some doctors said about him: Why does he mix medicine with preaching? Just as it did not harm him if some clerics said: Why does he share our field? He does not hold a scholarly certificate. Neither these nor those harmed him, but rather he went on his path, striving with his scalpel and his medicine... just as he struggled with his evidence and his pen. He remained on the path he knew until he met his Lord on the nineteenth of January 1960, may God's mercy and pleasure be upon him.
