Über das eBook

The interest of the Europeans in the Arabic language dates back to the tenth century AD. Since then, they began collecting in their coffers what the Arabs had written in medicine, philosophy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, astrology, literature, and language, and began translating them into their languages. Then this interest increased as a result of the Franks' contact with the Eastern peoples during the Crusades (1096-1291), so they would buy whatever Eastern manuscripts they could see; Because they consider it to be one of the ancient monuments of strange shape and language that is unknown in their country.
Current evidence of this is that Louis IX, King of France (1226-1270 AD), when he returned from the Crusades, took with him from the city of Damietta Arabic and Coptic manuscripts, with which he decorated the coffers of his palace, and many of the Franciscan princes and their wealthy pilgrims who accompanied the king on his visits to the holy places followed his example.
