Fickle souls

Can "love" triumph in the face of "working class injustice"? The novel "Cursing Souls" by Robert Parr raises these questions within an exciting framework of "conflict and suspense." The novel's events revolve around "Marsten", a young worker who fights for "the rights of his colleagues" under the "tyranny of factory manager Sartwell." The confrontation becomes more complicated when the flames of "love" ignite between Marsten and Edna, the daughter of Sartwell himself. كان "روبرت بار" (1849-1912) كاتبًا وَصحفيًا اسكتلنديًا-كنديًا، اشتهرَ بِأَدبِ "الجريمة وَالغموض". وَمن بين أَشهر أَعمالِه "مُغامرات شيرلو كومبس"، التي تُعدّ أَوّلَ "مُحاكاةٍ ساخرةٍ" لِـ "شيرلوك هولمز". وَتُشير بعض المصادر إلى أنّ شَخصية "المُحقّقِ يوجين فالمونت" ، التي ابتكرها "بار"، كانت إلهامًا لِـ "أجاثا كريستي" عند خَلقِ شَخصية "هيركيول بوارو".
