أندرو فورستر، وُلد باسم جون ردينج وير في عام 1832 في ساوثوورك بالمملكة المتحدة، هو كاتب بريطاني وروائي ومؤلف مسرحي. يُعتبر من رواد الأدب البوليسي حيث ابتكر شخصيات نسائية مميزة في هذا النوع الأدبي. من أشهر أعماله "الخدمة السرية"، "مصيدة الموت"، و"جزيرة وايت". توفي عام 1909، تاركًا إرثًا أدبيًا مؤثرًا في مجال الأدب البوليسي، ولا تزال قصصه تُقرأ وتُستمتع بها حتى اليوم.
