The novel deals with the historical period in which Egypt moved from the Fatimid rule to the Ayyubid rule, with the end of the ruling of the caliph as the last of the Fatimid caliphs, and the beginning of the rule of Sultan Salah al -Din al -Ayyubi, the well -known historical hero and the owner of the battle of Hittin. The novel also includes in its facts a description of the Ismaili community known as the Al -Hashasin group, a sect that separated from the Fatimids in the eighth century AD to call for the leadership of Nizar bin Al -Mustansir in God and those who came from his descendants, and this sect is famous between the eighth and fourteenth century, and it is led in this narration a man who claims Rashid Al -Din Sinan.
