ENGLAND

THIS BOOK is a summary of England (read British Isles); its past history and present culture essentially. The past consists of five chapters on the Celts, Richard Lion's Heart, Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and Prime Minister Winston Churchil.
The present consists of five chapters dealing with British Democrasy, Education, Religion, free-time and the Irish Problem.

THE AUTHOR
El Mouatamid BEN ROCHD holds a BA in American civilisation (Fes University), a Master of Arts in French (York University) and a PhD in Arabic (The National University of Irland). He spent an academic year as a visiting scholar at the University of Washington. He has lectured in many international Universities and given talks and lessons about modern and classical languages, side by side with the dialectics language-culture phenomena. He has published many books including Generative Grammar, Evolution of Chomsky's Transformational Grammar, WORDS Traditions in Linguistics (reviewed). He has recently intiated a youtube channel that presents a reflexion on "America & England: The people and the language."
