M.Selim Çürükkaya, 1954 Yılında Bingöl' de doğdu. Öğretmen okulu mezunudur. Siyasi nedenlerle 11 Yıl cezaevlerinde yattı. PEN üyesidir. Bazı gazetelerde yöneticilik ve köşe yazarlığı yaptı. Yayınlanmış dokuz adet kitabı bulunmaktatır. . Veywek adlı belgesel filmin rejisörlüğünü yaptı. Zazaca, Türkçe, Kurmanci ve Almanca biliyor.
