A rescue team moves to another time; Walpurgis Night, Battle on the Pharsalian Fields

Wolfgang Lederer was born in Mannheim in 1952 and spent his childhood and youth there. After passing his A-levels in 1971 at the Mollgymnasium, a school specialising in mathematics and natural sciences, he studied law at the University of Mannheim. After passing his first state law examination, he switched to studying medicine at the University Hospitals of Heidelberg and Mannheim, where he received his licence to practise medicine in 1984. Following his licensing, he completed specialist training as a radiologist and, in 1991, founded a joint radiology practice in Heidelberg with two colleagues, where he worked until his retirement in 2017.
