My diary
About the eBook
"My Diaries" is a vivid record that opens the doors to the early youth of Abdullah bin Al-Hussein. Its pages blend the innocence of childhood with the beginnings of leadership, in a journey that blends everyday anecdotes with the seriousness of grand politics. In a sweet and fluid style, the author recounts his memories with his tutors and his travels to Istanbul, where the civilizations of East and West met. He then reviews the features of the Arab Renaissance and the role of the Hashemite family within it. Among its rich chapters, we experience the details of his journey to Hajj and the moving spiritual experiences that accompanied it. We read about the historical role played by his father in the Hejaz and the Ottoman political transformations there. The book also touches on historical encounters with pivotal figures such as Lord Kitchener, presents excerpts from McMahon's correspondence with Sharif Abdullah Bey, and reaches the pages of the Arab Revolt, which marked a turning point in modern history. "My Diaries" is not merely a personal narrative; rather, it is a historical and human testimony that reflects the features of a pivotal period in Arab history.
