Alexandra Ivanovna Sokolova (1833–1914) was a Russian writer known before the Revolution under the pseudonym "Sinee Domino" (Blue Domino), the mother of the renowned journalist and columnist Vlasiy Doroshevich. She was among the most widely read authors of the second half of the 19th century. She wrote dozens of short stories, novels, journalistic works, and memoirs, among which "Meetings and Acquaintances" and "From the Memories of a Smolensk Girl" stand out, becoming striking documents of a cultural era.
