Challenges in Entrepreneurship
About the eBook
Despite the emergence of several organizations focused on entrepreneurship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the concept remains in its larval stage; it has not yet been integrated into educational curricula at the middle, secondary, and even university levels. Education and training are crucial factors in broadening the concept of entrepreneurship and illuminating its significance in community development and economic progress.
The question arises: Is entrepreneurship a craft, an acquired trait, or an inherent characteristic of entrepreneurs?
A great deal of debate surrounds the essence of entrepreneurs: Who are they? What do they do? The term is relatively new to the Arabic language, having only recently made its entrance. An entrepreneur can be defined, drawing from the earlier definitions within the first axis, as an initiative-taker who observes an unfulfilled need or desire in the market among consumers. They take risks and initiative, organizing all available financial, material, and human resources to satisfy this need, whether through a profit-driven business or occasionally for a social and economic purpose that is not profit-oriented.
