The authors of this book are world famous scientists. Richard Pipes - American historian and philosopher; Arnold Toynbee - English historian, cultural scientist and sociologist; Francis Fukuyama is an American political scientist, philosopher and historian.
All of them in their works repeatedly turned to the history of Russia, assessed its present, and made forecasts for the future. In their opinion, the special Russian path of development led to the fact that Russia, from the very first centuries of its existence, found itself isolated from the Western world and was doomed to loneliness. This is confirmed by many examples from its past, as well as modern political events, including those occurring at the beginning of the 21st century (R. Pipes writes about them in more detail).
