The streets of any city are an open book that tells the history of this city, and perhaps the history of the entire country. The signs bearing the street names are the pages of this book. In Egypt, there were no street names until the era of Muhammad Ali Pasha. Rather, there were neighborhoods or areas that sometimes bore the name of the tribe that initially lived in them. Or an "area" in which masters of a particular craft or craft gather... and sometimes it bears the name of the owner of a large palace erected in a certain area, such as "Abdeen," which bore the name Abdeen Bey. The old Abdin Bey Palace was finished, but after his name was engraved on an entire neighborhood and square. عباس الطرابيلي.. عشق الصحافة منذ كان طالبًا بالمرحلة الابتدائية وكان أيضًا عاشقًا للتاريخ .احترف الصحافة منذ عام 1959عندما عمل صحفيًّا بدار أخبار اليوم بعد أن اختاره مصطفى أمين للعمل بجريدة الأخبار محررًا للصناعة والبترول. ساهم عام 1972 في إنشاء أول صحيفة يومية بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. ساهم في إنشاء أول صحيفة أسبوعية معارضة عن حزب الوفد عام 1984 ثم أنشأ جريدة الوفد اليومية عام 1987 إلى أن أصبح رئيسًا لتحريرهما ولمدة تزيد عن عشر سنوات. يكتب مقالًا يوميًّا في جريدة الوفد منذ عام 1987 بعنوان "هموم مصرية" ومقالًا بجريدة المصري اليوم بعنوان "لكل المصريين". له العديد من المؤلفات المتميزة من أهمها شوارع لها تاريخ، وكتابه عن القاهرة المحروسة، وغرائب الرحلات والأكلات والأسماء .
