Andalusian philosophers
About the eBook
This book deals with the issue of the alienation of philosophy in Muslim society, an issue that preoccupied the great philosophers of Andalusia, each in his own way, especially after Al-Ghazali declared philosophers in the East infidels. The book deals in another part with the transfer of Ibn Rushd's philosophy to Europe in the thirteenth century, and how he was exposed there to another ordeal. And persecution of another kind. However, the Cordoba philosopher nevertheless managed to influence generations of European philosophers. There is, therefore, a rich intellectual saga that the author narrates in a simple and interesting language that combines philosophical culture and narrative skill. In it, he returns to the original sources, highlights the cultural relations between the Islamic world and Europe, and unveils the importance of these philosophers for the present era, as they, in his view, continue to speak to us across the centuries.
